Cenlar Government Shutdown Update – Oct. 15, 2025

Cenlar is closely monitoring the federal government shutdown and continues to be prepared for resulting impacts to homeowners, as well as servicing operations.

Homeowner Assistance Bot
Making sure that homeowners receive the help they need is our first concern. To ensure they receive this help, we’ve developed a bot specifically designed to assist homeowners affected by the government shutdown.

Launched last week, this government shutdown bot is available for all homeowners who call the government shutdown direct line at (866) 401-5074. Special IVR messaging navigates these homeowners through the system, so they can get help faster.

Forbearances and Loss Mitigation
For homeowners affected by the shutdown who are requesting forbearance, we are following the same process we use for natural disasters. Agency direction for affected loans will follow our plan code matrix.

The loan code for homeowners affected by the shutdown is GSD (Government Shutdown).

To date, we have received guidance from FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and the Mortgage Partnership Finance Program (MPF). This guidance is going through our Regulatory Change Management process. We are still waiting for direction from VA and USDA.

Insurance and Claims
To date, we have not seen any impacts in our insurance area.

Partial claim payments from HUD have been delayed. We continue to file claims and advance funds, so there is no impact to homeowners. Clients may see a delay in being reimbursed for the advance.

Claims from other investors continue to operate BAU.

Other Government-Dependent Functions
We continue to assess the impacts to government-dependent functions, such as flood certifications, and adjust our processes accordingly.

We will continue to communicate with you as more information becomes available.

As always, please reach out to your client manager with any questions.

Thank you.
