Cenlar Makes Preparations for Hurricane Ian’s Impact

Hurricane Ian is anticipated to make landfall today, Wednesday, Sept. 28, impacting the Gulf Coast of Florida. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting that, due to the size of the storm, nearly the entire state will experience some level of inclement weather.
Cenlar is prepared to assist homeowners affected by Hurricane Ian, and has taken the steps in alignment with our plans to manage natural disasters, including:

  • We have identified all loans within Florida (where either the property itself or the filed mailing address are located in the state). As the storm nears, we now can better target which homeowners should receive assistance emails.
  • Collection/Suppression: Starting 9/28, collection efforts to Florida-based loans will be suppressed. We will continue to monitor and update suppression(s) dependent on impact areas.
  • Contact Centers: Disaster and Forbearance communications have been sent to our contact centers, so our representatives are prepared to help affected homeowners.
  • IVR: Our IVR now contains disaster prompts and routing.
  • Website: Homeowners with loans in Florida will receive a targeted natural disaster assistance web banner.
  • Third-party vendors: With the assistance of our third-party vendor management team, we worked to identify potential vendor impacts. At this time, there continues to be little to no forecasted impact to our vendors.
