President and CEO David Schneider Speaks to HousingWire at MBA Annual 2025
Cenlar President and CEO David Schneider spoke with Diego Sanchez of HousingWire during the Mortgage Bankers Association Annual conference in Las Vegas last month about the evolving subservicing landscape and why selecting the right partner is critical for success.
During the in-depth interview, Schneider explained how Cenlar supports lenders, the advantages of subservicing and key criteria for maintaining strong partnerships.
Schneider said that he’s particularly excited about the opportunity to work on behalf of our client partners to provide an excellent experience to their homeowners each and every day.
“It’s fun to bring technology to improve the customer experience — get more customers on digital and help them get more out of the relationship,” Schneider told HousingWire.

What You Need to Know for Year-End
As we enter the homestretch of 2025, Cenlar has begun planning for year-end.
Here’s what you need to know about our annual technology freeze, new loan submissions, the transfer “blackout” period and modifications to the transfer schedule in the final weeks of the year:
Technology Freeze
This year’s technology freeze will occur between December 15, 2025 and January 6, 2026. During this time, we will not be deploying client-requested changes into production.
This freeze period is extended for any client-requested web or branding changes. For these types of requested changes, the year-end freeze will take place between November 24, 2025 and January 25, 2026.
All requests will be implemented once this freeze lifts.
Transfer ‘Blackout’ Period
We will observe a transfer “blackout” period from December 22, 2025 through January 5, 2026. This blackout period is primarily driven by Cenlar’s year-end system freeze. During this time, transfer activities (including programming changes and testing) will be halted for:
- New Loan Interface Development Processes.
- New Sellers: Inbound Bulk and Flow Transactions No inbound bulk or flow transactions will be processed for new sellers between December 22, 2025, and January 1, 2026. During this blackout period, new seller onboarding and related transfer activities will be paused. Standard processing for inbound transactions and new seller onboarding will resume on January 2, 2026, in alignment with the regular outbound transfer schedule, which resumes on January 5, 2026.
- Inbound and Outbound Transactions: Non-recurring transactions will not be scheduled between December 22, 2025, and January 1, 2026. However, recurring service release and interim transactions may be scheduled to start January 2, 2026. The regular inbound and outbound transaction schedule will resume on January 5, 2026.
Transfer Schedule Modifications
The dates to submit loan level list/files for Internal Transfers have been modified and outlined below.
| Month | Transfer Type | Activity | Date |
| Dec-25 | Internal Transfers | Submission of Final Loan List |

New Loan Submissions
New loans requiring maintenance of year-end fields must be sent to us via a corrected 1098 data file by December 12, 2025. This will ensure borrowers receive the correct Form 1098 information. Please submit requests via CCM.
All new loans closed in 2025 must board by January 9, 2026. This will enable us to complete year-end tax reporting and distribution of a Form 1098 to your homeowners.
If you have any questions, please contact your client manager.

Snowbird? New Enhancement to CenNet Gives Co-Borrowers Power to Edit Seasonal Address
We have added an enhancement to CenNet that will enable co-borrowers to add/modify their seasonal address. Prior to this new addition, only the primary borrower had the ability to make changes.
A seasonal address is used temporarily by a borrower during a specific time of the year when the individual is relocating. For example, spending winters in Florida or another warm state.
If you have any questions regarding this new change, please reach out to your client management team.
