July 1 Update on Exela Cyber Incident
We wanted to update you on the progress our vendor Exela has made since we last communicated with you.
Exela has told us that it has cleared the entire processing backlog that formed due to the cyber incident shutdown. Its larger, East Coast processing center is fully operational, and has been running same-day processing. It has been business-as-usual at the East Coast facility since Monday, June 27. Its West Coast facility was running one day behind, as of the close of business yesterday, but should be current by the end of today. All payments are effective dated to when Exela received them, so no credit reporting or late fees will be assessed to the impacted payments. Importantly, all payments received in June have been processed by Exela. Please know that Exela continues the investigation of their cyber incident, and has confirmed that no homeowner data has been compromised at this time. Exela otherwise has not shared any new information with us. We’ll continue to share any new updates as they are available. |
