New Process for Flood Zone Determination Vendors

In order to continually improve the service we provide to you and your homeowners, Cenlar has been evaluating our critical vendor relationships for flood zone determination tracking. It is important that these vendors ensure quality, establish consistent controls and provide frequent updates on flood zone and flood data changes. Through this endeavor, we identified an opportunity to streamline the process of onboarding your flood zone determination certificates and enhance our monitoring of flood zone changes.

Starting Thursday, June 1, 2023, we will require that all loans boarding our system have a flood zone determination completed by one of three approved vendors: Corelogic, Servicelink or CBC Innovis. All loans also must have a transferrable life of loan flood certificate, as well as accurate flood data.

If you cannot provide the transferable life of loan flood certificate from one of the three approved vendors when boarding a loan, then you must board the loan using “NOFLOD” in the payee field in XML. When a loan boards with “NOFLOD” payee, Cenlar will initiate the ordering of a new flood zone determination from our contracted flood vendors, and bill you the cost stipulated in our agreement.

Within the next week, we will implement a soft edit in the XML file for this field to provide you feedback as you adjust to this change. This soft edit will convert to a hard reject on Thursday, June 1; at that time, any loan that does not board with either one of the three approved flood vendors or “NOFLOD” in the payee field will not be allowed to proceed with boarding.

We are confident that these changes will provide an increased level of accuracy and a stronger control environment that ultimately protects you and your homeowners.
