CenAccess MFA Launches Monday, June 10, 2024

CenAccess MFA Launches Monday, June 10, 2024

As we announced in several issues of the Client Bulletin, we are introducing enhanced security for our CenAccess application through the addition of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). We are launching this feature on Monday, June 10.

As we have previously communicated, MFA validation will be facilitated through the Microsoft Authenticator app. CenAccess users will download the Authenticator application — if they do not already have it installed — to their mobile device and use it to perform MFA to launch CenAccess. Microsoft Authenticator App is available in both the Apple App and Google Play stores via mobile device, at no cost.

After initial validation and on an ongoing basis upon CenAccess login, users will be provided a one-time code via the Authenticator app for additional authentication to enable login. This will also help streamline password resets for CenAccess, as this will now be available to be done online without calling the Cenlar Help Desk.

What to Expect on Launch Date

On the morning of Monday, June 10, CenAccess users will receive two emails with credentials and instructions needed to perform the CenAccess MFA registration process. The first email will provide the login user ID. The other will provide the URL link, temporary password and guidance on how to download Microsoft Authenticator, setup and access CenAccess via MFA.

In order to prepare CenAccess users, we will be sending out an early communication via email directly to each user tomorrow. As we’ve communicated previously, here is what your organization should be doing to prepare:

  • Alert your technology teams that CenAccess users will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app onto their mobile devices, if they do not have it already.
  • Inform CenAccess users of the coming enhancement and the need to download Microsoft Authenticator and perform the MFA registration process when they receive the emails on the morning of Monday, June 10.
  • Inform CCM administrators that no new CenAccess user requests will be accepted during the migration window, beginning June 1 through the end of the rollout on Friday, June 21.

CenAccess users will have two weeks to register and migrate to CenAccess MFA. If they do not convert and do not register by Friday, June 21, their CenAccess credentials will be deactivated. If continued access is needed, a new request for user access will need to be submitted via CCM by your CCM administrator.

For an early preview, you can download the CenAccess MFA User Guide to review the conversion steps that will be communicated to CenAccess users in next week’s communication. You can find the user guide here.
