Worldwide Ransomware Attack

As you are likely aware, there was significant news recently regarding a ransomware cybersecurity attack that impacted multiple companies, institutions and organizations worldwide.

We are pleased to inform you that Cenlar had taken steps to remediate this vulnerability across its systems prior to the evidence of escalation of this exploit being identified in the media. Cenlar has not been affected by the attack and considers our risk of this threat to be limited at this point.

As an additional measure, Cenlar has also blocked all known originating IP addresses associated to this exploit in its core firewalls permitting Internet access. We will continue to monitor this as we expect there will be additional variants released.

Finally, our mortgage servicing platform provider has informed us that they have recently tested their incident response plan, ransomware playbook, and recovery capabilities, and have assured us of their high level of confidence in their ability to defend against cybersecurity attacks.

Information security is of the highest priority at Cenlar. We will keep you informed as we continue to take proactive measures to guard against these types of threats.
